Fifth Quirk - Video (Ecruteak City.)

Sooooooooooraaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

*Imogen is all ready to leave, she swapped out her previous traveling outfit for a new outfit from her computer. Her pack is on and her Pokeballs are in the pocket on her jacket. Her outfit is a bit warmer but still just as odd as usual, and her hat has holes in it for her two tails of hair. She's holding Zorua in her arms.*

Look look! I dunno what to name him yet, but he hatched!

And just in time to head out! Such a great bit of luck!

Isn't he cute!?

True. But even they have their limits.

[He's not...following, if that blank look is anything to go by.]

No, she picked Eve. You must have her confused with some other pokemon.

Oh! Yeah, that...makes sense, too. [Have a sheepish grin.] I'm Hiccup Haddock. Nice to meet you.
newberktown: (i actually built this dragon)

It does seem like a long way away--but it all depends on how you train them, I guess. My friend Astrid is much more focused on training than I am, so even though she came here long after I did, some of her pokemon are stronger.

You've met her, then, I see. She does that whole 'viking' thing better than I ever could.

[Dragons were all him, though.]

Some of my pokemon are like that, too--but since I'm not much of a fighter myself, I get it. You learn to work with what you've got, for battles.

[And usually, then ended up being more than enough.]

No, I was assigned to be a trainer. Didn't stop my pokemon from trying to say otherwise, though...

It's...a side effect of our upbringing. The people of Berk don't have enough creativity to fill a bottle.

[Even Hiccup, with all his innovations, could only come up with the name 'Toothless' when faced with a dragon seemingly without teeth.]

I guess, but that doesn't mean you have to. You could focus on travel, or working. A lot of people settle down and get houses. [Shrug.] I'm staying at one of my friend's houses right now.

[...Man, calling Albert a friend was weird.]

The dragons made things exciting, at least.

I'm usually traveling around, too--we came here for Thanksgiving and it looks like we'll spend Christmas here, too. We'll probably get back to flying around, then, unless Albert needs me to make more things for him.

[He's helping with science. c=]

For most vikings? There's fighting, drinking contests, going out to get food before Devastating Winter rolls around--and when that's done, there's preparing for Thawfest.

For me, there's building things. But I'm generally dealing with the dragons anyway.

[The kept busy, even if a lot of it was for survival or just showing off brute strength. Life as a noodleviking was hard.]

It...gets pretty cold, here. Astrid and I are used to it, but that's because the weather on Berk is miserable 97% of the time. It's easier with fire pokemon around, though, so Wildfyre will come in handy.

And hey, maybe you can consider this your Christmas in July.
newberktown: (so you see)

[personal profile] newberktown 2012-12-10 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I...get that a lot.

[Oh, he can understand that sentiment.]

Last year here was my first Snoggletog without my dad or the other members of the tribe--that's our winter holiday, back home. Even though Toothless was here back then, it wasn't the same. He'd never celebrated Snoggletog, and other than massive amounts of snow, there wasn't really anything here to make it seem like how it was back home.

It wasn't the worst Snoggletog ever, but...it was pretty close.
newberktown: (jeez this is not fair)

Yeah... It's definitely rough. It does get a little easier, if you make your own family here, but it's not quite the same. You just have to wait and hope that maybe they'll come here, too.
