for_realsies: (Bored Now!)

First Quirk - Route 29 (Voice/Action as appropriate.)

So... the rules for this sorta thing aren't any different right? Stay out of tall grass, you can't jump up those ledges. Try to be the very best, like no one ever was?

*She sounds more than a little bored, but that might have to do with how much walking there is on route 29. At least two overdramatic sighs made it into just those three sentences. Game time was so much quicker, where you could go Pallet to Viridian and back in a few minutes when she was a kid. She supposed it had to be, or else nobody would play the game. They would get bored, and go outside. The real outside.*

...I don't have to battle everyone that looks at me, right? Cause that would get more than a little old. I mean, I am just starting out and stuff. Oh! Can I find Rattata out here!? They are so cute! I want one, no, ten! I want ten!

*slight pause*

...Somebody keep me company, Omen is cute but we've run out of things to talk about.

*For anyone on the route with her, there' a strange girl with her hair up, wearing a mish-mash of colors and darks, with tiny mis-matched dice hanging from her ears. Swaying her hips, and bobbing her head, to the beat of the background music. Wandering around with an Absol walking at her side. He seems to be amused by her boredom, but is keeping his eyes out for anything that might be a danger to his new master.*

*Congrats, this is Imogen.*

Awww, it ain't all that bad. There's hundreds of these little guys all over the place. Before y'know it, you've been here for a week or two and you've fallen in love with 'em all.

[He grins wide for a few moments and chuckles a bit.]

Don't worry about that too much, either. There's clothing stores out there, you can just go out and buy a trainer's hat if you wanna.

Six-somethin', I think. Someone did a long count a while back if I remember right. Can you even imagine? Over six-hundred of the little guys. Big, small, fluffy, weird, an' every flavor in-between. Welcome to the world of the 'mons...

[And then he realizes she just said the magic number.]

Ah, hey. Wait a sec. A few other people said that before! What'cha mean 151 when you were younger? Have you been to this place before?

...Game Boy? Video Games? ...Mew?

[Penny's in the air, boys and girls.]

Do what now?
melodicnocturne: (What do - ...buh?)

I...I dunno. You could check the dex off your gear, though. If it's as rare as you say it might not even show up.

[This is, of course, him assuming the thing in question actually exists for the sake of taking anything she just said at face value.]

Sounds weird. But, whatever floats people's boats... Anywho, I'm Demyx. A trainer, just like you. I'm not from this world either, but I've been here for a while and have done some traveling. If you've got any questions about how things work, I could try to field 'em for ya.

Eh? My hair?

[Oh, she is just a special little snowflake, isn't she? Demyx looks up at his hair for a few moments in befuddlement.]

It just...stays like this. I've never had any problems with it.

[Welcome to the world of 'I was born in a Square-Enix game,' Imogen. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.]

I mean, yeah, I brush it. In the mornings and whatever. Not much else I gotta do about it.

Lucky you. I had no idea what I was gettin' into when I woke up in that bed.

It helps if you can make friends to keep yourself occupied on the road. Also, if you can get a big and fast enough 'mon you can hop on for a ride. It makes travel easier, until you can use fly at least.

[Demyx taps his chin, trying to remember both places that the badge and HM come from.]

Cianwood and Saffron for the HM, then... I think it's Violet and Celadon that let you use Fly outside of battle. If you think about it, it's probably a bit easier to take on Falkner at Violet, then go to Kanto from Goldenrod and take Saffron city's gym leader down. I was thinkin' about doin' that pretty soon.

You'd be surprised how many of the big guys like to be helpful, and plenty of the smaller ones evolve to be big and strong!

Actually. If you take out Falkner in Violet, then head to Goldenrod City, you could just take the Magnet Line to Saffron and knock out Sabrina right then and there! Bam, two badges, one HM, and the power to fly almost anywhere. Two birds with one stone.
