*She sounds more than a little bored, but that might have to do with how much walking there is on route 29. At least two overdramatic sighs made it into just those three sentences. Game time was so much quicker, where you could go Pallet to Viridian and back in a few minutes when she was a kid. She supposed it had to be, or else nobody would play the game. They would get bored, and go outside. The real outside.*

...I don't have to battle everyone that looks at me, right? Cause that would get more than a little old. I mean, I am just starting out and stuff. Oh! Can I find Rattata out here!? They are so cute! I want one, no, ten! I want ten!

*slight pause*

...Somebody keep me company, Omen is cute but we've run out of things to talk about.

*For anyone on the route with her, there' a strange girl with her hair up, wearing a mish-mash of colors and darks, with tiny mis-matched dice hanging from her ears. Swaying her hips, and bobbing her head, to the beat of the background music. Wandering around with an Absol walking at her side. He seems to be amused by her boredom, but is keeping his eyes out for anything that might be a danger to his new master.*

That might be a problem, the Rattata bit I mean. You've only got seven slots on the belt for 'mons. Anythin' else hits the PC. Good way to start off the intro from here would be me askin' you what your trainer ID registers you as. Should be Breeder or Trainer.

And I've been told I'm all decked out in Trainer stuff. But I didn't get the hat. I expected the hat. Not that I really wear hats.

Awww, it ain't all that bad. There's hundreds of these little guys all over the place. Before y'know it, you've been here for a week or two and you've fallen in love with 'em all.

[He grins wide for a few moments and chuckles a bit.]

Don't worry about that too much, either. There's clothing stores out there, you can just go out and buy a trainer's hat if you wanna.

What's the count of Pokemon up to? I didn't recognize Omen and I did manage to catch everything when I was younger. So it has to be more than 151.

*She nods about the clothing, then rummages in her bag and holds up the B/W era Lass outfit.* I'll find something. I just don't like the really boring outfit my backpack gave me. I'll need to do a lot of work to make these wearable.

Six-somethin', I think. Someone did a long count a while back if I remember right. Can you even imagine? Over six-hundred of the little guys. Big, small, fluffy, weird, an' every flavor in-between. Welcome to the world of the 'mons...

[And then he realizes she just said the magic number.]

Woooow, how many can I catch!? Are they all available, do I have to sucked into a different wild adventure to get like two dozen that aren't available in this version? I really should have paid more attention to video games to prepare for this sorta thing!

Huh, well, no. I mean. There were video games. Everyone at school played them way back when. They were all so cute I did catch all 150, and got a Mew from a friend at school! I didn't even care that I only got a stupid 'you did it' message from the game for completing the Pokedex!

Why, are you from someplace that didn't have Game Boys?

Game Boys are kinda like these phones, only they were for playing video games on. Video Games are fun pretend things to keep kids from reading books or whining during long car trips. And Mew was a super secret hard to get ultra rare Pokemon when the first games were released.

So rare it wasn't actually in any of the games.

...probably means I can't catch one here, huh? *And Imogen has completely lost focus on things.*

You can find Rattatas and Pidgeys and Sentrets and enough Pokémon to keep you busy for weeks if you want. You can even find a few more species in the tress.

But are they all as cute as Rattatas?

And I've never heard of a Sentret before. Are they around this area?

I found them all pretty sweet-looking, except maybe for Hoothoot and that's mostly because of the eyes. You'll meet plenty of Sentrets on the way to Cherrygrove; they're everywhere in the grass.

It sounds like an owl, owls have amazing eyes. And some of the little ones are very cute. Like little furry balls of feathers!

Well, as 'red-eyed ball of feathers' is the best way to describe one, I think you might like them quite a lot. As long as you don't mind the staring, at least. Just remember that you only have five balls with you for the next few days.

Which is unfair. I mean I know that's how you start in the games. But there are so many new friends to make!

If I'm going to be wandering with only my animal friends, I want as many animal friends as I can manage.

Heh, I know the feeling. I ended up carrying my Starly in my arms for nearly three days before I finally managed to buy a sixth pokéball. My arms were covered in scratches for a week and it made her clingy, but it was worth it.
